Surya
Roshni may start unit in Himachal

ExcerptsCountry’s
biggest lamp company Surya Roshni Ltd is exploring avenues to start a
manufacturing unit in Himachal Pradesh. The
company, which is the second largest player in the fast growing
Indian Lighting Market. is a close second
in the region.
According
to Surya Roshni Ltd General Manager (Commercial) S. Ramasubramanian ,the
Rs 80 crore company, which
was earlier called Prakash Tubes,is
also looking to increase its export volume.
“
We are already exporting our products to over 40 countries . Also, our
wholly owned US subsidiary is doing extremely well. Out of our annual
turnover of Rs 800 crore,the lighting sector chips in with a major share
of over Rs 300 crore” ,he informed..
