Surya Roshni Plans To Invest Rs 100 Cr In HP

Moving a step ahead with expansion plan Surya Roshni Ltd.,a company with an annual lighting turnover of Rs 300 crore,plans to invest Rs 100 crore in Himachal Pradesh ………………….

The first phase of its operations will involve heavy advertising and retail marketing focussed mainly on the potential cities like Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Patiala and rural areas associated with these places. Launch of new products this year in the Metal Halide, Sodium Vapour and Light Emitting Diode series are also on the agenda of the company. On an average,3-4 lakh per month of these products will be manufactured. The company currently has market share of 22 and 26 percent respectively in the General Lighting System(GLS) and Fluorescent Tube Lamp(FTL) respectively which is likely to increase with the launch of new products, says Mr Subramanian.

Its R&D centers are based at Kashipur (UP) and Malanpur(MP).”We are mainly focussing on just improvement on existing technology as far as R&D is concerned  .However ,in .the coming years,the R&D budget is likely to be increased. A foreign collaboration for R&D is also in the offing”,he said.
