soft-tech acquires two cos.

SURYA Soft-tech LTD, a 100 per cent subsidiary of lighting major Surya Roshni, has acquired two Bangalore-based software companies and plans to tap the capital markets to raise funds for expansion. The company is planning to come out with a public issue at par, a company statement said here today. Surya Softech recently acquired Avda Comptech and Adnet Solutions, winners of golden web award in US, and is setting up a software development centre in Bangalore, it said. According to Surya Softech Chairman Jai Prakash Agarwal, the subsidiary has been set up to lead the group's foray into the Information Technology area and is focussing on providing e-commerce and Internet solutions, CAD, CAM, GIS and software solutions to organisations both in India and across the globe. However Surya Softech is not entering the Internet service provider(ISP) business, he said.
